Let's go to the beach

It's finally gotten so hot, we're ready to bare our flabby-pale teacher-bod to the world and hit the water. And you don't even have to leave your hometown! Here's your guide to the sandy shores of Mid-Michigan.

1. Bluebell Beach

Located off Bray Rd, this beach is part of Genesee County Parks & Recreation. Open daily 8 am-8 pm.

2. Linden County Park

Located on Linden Rd., includes Clover Beach on Byron Lake. Open daily 8 am-sunset.

3. Buttercup Beach

Located in Columbiaville on Baxter Rd. Includes a walleye boat launch!

4. Groveland Oaks County Park

Located in Holly. Daily pass required. Rowboat and kayak rentals available.

5. Silver Lake Park

Located on Silver Lake off Jennings Rd.

6. Holly Recreation Area

Located on Grange Hall Rd. in Holly Twp. Includes a beach, hiking trails, disc golf, and much more.
